Umami in Fukuoka: Tonkotsu Ramen

Umami in Fukuoka: Tonkotsu Ramen
At Ibudu ramen restaurant, Fukuoka.

This was my first time eating original Japanese ramen in Fukuoka, Japan at Ibudu. We had several prickles to eat as an appetizer. When finally getting the bowl of Tonkotsu ramen I tasted the characteristical white broth. In Fukuoka the Tonkotsu ramen (tonkotsu=pork bones) is very famous.

This taste was so amazing. I never have eaten something that had such a distinctive and full-bodied taste. The taste of the broth dabbles your tongue. The noodles were just perfect (when eating this soup in an authentic way you have to slurp the noodles!!!) and covered with the taste of Umami!
It was incredible delicious and finally made my eyes wet because I was so satisfied. 😆 Sorry but there is no other way to describe this experience.

My first Tonkotsu ramen.

So message to you: Whenever you come to Fukuoka, please, pleeease go and order a bowl of Tonkatsu ramen!
